PLEASE NOTE:
The CPRA has now corrected this rule to be $25 not $100. Anyone issued this in error will be receiving a credit notice shortly. This applies to all the barrel racers in the perf. However, this $100 fine is still applicable to the last two. This is a continuous problem, so please check those markers. Thanks.
"As per the 2008 rule changes (which can be found in CRN) the fine has been increased to $100. Please note that “properly marked” means being checked before each perf."
I would like to bring attention to everyone reagarding the following rule:
Section IX – Ladies Barrel Race, Rule A 6
“6. Whenever split go-rounds are run, barrel distances must be measured with a measuring tape. When the barrels are being marked, a judge must be present to witness the figures used and recorded as the measurements to be turned in to the secretary and used the next day. The paper is to be signed by ladies barrel racers’ designated show representative and judge, where possible. Failure to have barrels marked in the required time frame will constitute an automatic twenty-five dollar ($25) fine to the designated show representatives. If barrels are not properly marked at all, all ladies barrel race contestants up that performance or slack will be subject to a twenty-five dollar ($25) fine.”
As per the 2008 rule changes (which can be found in CRN) the fine has been increased to $100. Please note that “properly marked” means being checked before each perf.
I just want to send prayers to the chuckwagon world on the loss of Herman Flad of Bodo and 14 of his horses he was hauling. He was on his way to a race in Grande Prairie and was in an accident yesterday afternoon.
Rodeo and the Chuckwagon world are so closely tied, I am so sorry for their loss.
